When a refugee or immigrant arrives in the United States, their first task is to establish security. They've lost everything and their attention is focused on making sure their family is safe, they have a roof over their heads, and they can provide food and clothing for the whole family.
Eventually they get a job that helps them survive. They find a place to live. The kids go to school. Things are ok. They'll make it.
But we were designed for so much more. Each of these people was created in the image of God and each has their own unique story to tell and contribution to make.
